Lovlina Borgohain clinched the world title in the 75kg category at the World Women’s Boxing Championship in New Delhi. She won the final against Australia’s Caitlin Parker by a split decision after taking the early lead in round one and then reclaiming the lead in round three.

Lovlina Borgohain won her first-ever gold medal at the World Championships, having secured a bronze medal at the 2018 edition. India had an outstanding performance with four gold medals, marking their best performance at the World Championships since 2006.
