Chennai Super Kings CEO Kasi Viswanathan on Wednesday confirmed that MS Dhoni will be seeking medical advice to treat his nagging knee injury, adding that the skipper will only take a call on whether he needs surgery or not.
Throughout the IPL 2023 campaign. Dhoni was seen sporting a knee brace on the eve of the Chennai Super KIngs’ opener against Gujarat Titans in Ahmedabad, sparking concerns about his fitness. However, Dhoni did not miss a single game for CSK, managing the injury scare well in their victorious season.
Dhoni managed only 104 runs in 16 matches but he struck at close to 180, hitting 10 sixes throughout the campaign.
“Yes, it is true that Dhoni will be taking medical advice for his left knee injury and accordingly decide. If surgery is advised, it can only be ascertained after reports come out, it will be completely his call,” Kasi Viswanathan told PTI news agency.
